If Only

“Turning back the pages of my sweet shattered dream, I wonder if she’ll ever do the same; And the thing that I call living is just being satisfied With knowing I’ve got no one left to blame”
Aditya was a shy kid who hardly used to talk to girls and had never thought he would have a girlfriend. Although rich and smart, he never tried to get along with girls but then he always was a decent guy and respected woman. But at the end of his school days, he had a liking for a girl and for the first time, he thought he wanted a girlfriend. He did all he could to be friends with that girl and did all to impress the girl. Pretty soon they were more than just friends and Aditya thought he might have found the one girl he wanted forever. But though they had a strong bond, Aditya never managed to tell that girl how much he loved her and wanted to do so much for her.
One day suddenly, the girl decided never to talk with him and asked him never to call again and although he tried as much to persuade the girl, she never came back. Aditya felt the world around him fall. He never ever got over her. He did try to build a relation with other girls during his college days but he never found the innocence he once felt. He had just lost the one thing he wanted most in the world. And whenever he thought about it, he wished he could do all those things he desired to do once for her. He wished if only he had a second chance would he make up for it, but he always knew that he would never get back to her. And he just wished that maybe he could have just told her what he really thought.
If only. Those must be the two saddest words in the world.
We always wish that we could have let something not happen and always wish if could get another chance, but what use is it?! There have been so many relations where a person has never expressed his love to his loved ones and when they really want to let them know it has been too late. Let alone love relations, how many times have we seen ourselves not able to tell our parents or siblings how much we care. Why cant we understand that if there is a moment in this world its just now; its today! Why should we wait for ‘the right moment’ to express our love? What harm is it if we just say it regularly that I Love You.
Life never gives people many chances; you have to make most of what you got just now. The story of Aditya is the story of so many youth who were never ever able to express their love and when they said the time had gone by. It is one thing, that the person whom you tell I Love You, does not appreciate, but then if you never tell, the regret is far worse. You may never know what the other person feels and you may lose that person for good later. The fear to lose a person, may ultimately lead to losing that person if you never let that person know your feelings.
If there is a moment to live its now; if there is a moment to love its now; if there is a moment to express love its now. Don’t wait for the right moment for there is never a wrong time to do the right thing.
